Dhiraj Prasad Sahu

Dhiraj Prasad Sahu (born 23 November 1959) is the politician from Indian National Congress Party. He was elected to Rajya Sabha from state of Jharkhand of the ticket of INC in July 2010.

He is son of Industrialist & social worker of the erstwhile Chotanagpur (division of State of Bihar, now Jharkhand) Late Shri Rai Sahab Baldeo Sahu, who was also involved in freedom struggle.

He is brother of former member of parliament (Lok Sabha) from Ranchi Late Shri Shiv Prasad Sahu.He has studied B. A. and resides at Lohardaga.

Vision & Values

Mr. Dhiraj Prasad Sahu has a vision of creating a prosperous and inclusive society, where all citizens have equal opportunities to succeed. He envisions a Jharkhand that is known for its strong economy, high-quality education and healthcare, and vibrant cultural heritage. Being a member of the Coal, Mines and Steel committee of Lok Sabha, he strives to create an environment where the state’s rich natural resources are used sustainably to benefit all citizens and he has never been hesitant in pointing these points out in the parliamentary sessions.

To achieve this vision, Mr. Sahu has a mission to promote sustainable economic growth, improve access to education and healthcare, and preserve and promote the state’s cultural heritage. He also questioned the efforts put by the government in surveying to identify the cultural heritage sites in Jharkhand.

To promote sustainable economic growth, He focuses on attracting investment in industries that create jobs and promote sustainable development. His work towards the development of the state’s infrastructure and improving connectivity to other parts of the country is not unnoticed. He has urged the Railway ministry to provide a stoppage to Ranchi- Delhi Express at Lohardaga which will create a lot of job opportunities and will be convenient for the nearby districts.
